My work is born from a love of being in nature. I photograph the different rural scenes of the landscape before transforming them into photo etchings to further enhance the artistry of the natural world. Through creating ambiguous prints, I aim to remind each viewer of something personal, whether it be a place, or a feeling. I depict ethereal scenes to offer an alternative view of the environments we have become so accustomed to and to reflect the subtle splendour that can be found in our surroundings. My images are constructed by playing with light, shape and form, rather than capturing what is right there. Human presence is purposefully excluded, providing a quiet space away from the contemporary noise of urban living. I hope my artwork provides a gentle reminder of our deep-rooted connection to nature, and how it can be a place of reflection and calm where we can seek solace in times of worry.
